The Battle of Medway was a daring assault on the English which changed the course of English naval history.

Between 8 and 17 June 2017, Medway will commemorate the 350^th anniversary of the Battle, with a unique series of events, exhibitions and activities across Medway. Join us as we commemorate this historical and important battle and celebrate the heritage of the rich and diverse English and Dutch cultures.

The fortnight will culminate on 17 June with Medway in Flames, a breath-taking one-off showcase event that will tell the story of this historic naval battle.

  Also known as ‘The Dutch Raid’ and in Holland ‘Tocht naar Chatham’, the Battle of Medway marked one of the greatest disasters in our naval history.
