Steering Group

The Early Help steering group provides a partnership overview of what our early helps services are achieving and monitors how joint processes are working.

Purpose of Steering Group

  • Collectively seek solutions to challenges and problems in the local system
  • Review the impact of multi agency training on early help across Medway and identify opportunities to share learning
  • Identify best practice that will improve outcomes for children, young people and families, and ensure dissemination across the Medway system
  • Oversee communications on Early Help in Medway to ensure a consistent and appropriate approach
  • Receive updates from lead Early Help officers and provide support and challenge in order to secure continuous improvement  
  • Make recommendations to commissioners for services required to meet the needs of Medway

Aims and Objectives

  • Upskilling the workforce and increasing awareness

  • Increase in uptake and quality of Early Help Assessments

  • Reduction in the number of families needing Social Care
